SBGf Conference Course 1

Carbonates rock physics – Brazilian Pre-salt applications, challenges and pitfalls

November 17, 2025 / 9 AM - 5 PM

This course aims to introduce the fundamentals on carbonates rock physics and discuss applications of seismic quantitative interpretation in Brazilian pre-salt fields. The course will explain what are the many factors that influence elastic properties of pre-salt carbonate rocks, what is (and is not) possible to predict using seismic interpretation and inversion in this setting, and the challenges associated with pre-salt reservoir characterization, modelling and monitoring.

Instructors:
Requirements: No
Target Audience: Geophysicist and Geologists. Researchers, Senior Undergraduates and Students.
SBGf Conference Course 2

Hands-on Python for Artificial Intelligence in Geosciences

November 17, 2025 / 9 AM - 5 PM

This course covers the fundamentals of key AI techniques and their application to solving real-world problems in geosciences. The theoretical concepts will be complemented by hands-on examples using Python and real datasets. Participants will build a complete workflow, from data ingestion and processing to result visualization and storage.

SBGf Conference Course 3

Fundamentals of Time-lapse Seismic (4DS)

November 17, 2025 / 9 AM - 5 PM

The course is suitable not only to geophysicists, but also to geologists, reservoir engineers, petrophysicists and others wanting to know what 4DS is and how it can help reservoir management. Topics to be covered: basic concepts, 4DS acquisition and processing, petrophysical basis for 4D, feasibility studies, 4DS interpretation, time-shifts, 4D-Geomechanics and 4DS applied to carbonate reservoirs. Recent information on the application of 4DS in Pre-Salt will be shown and discussed.

Instructors:
Requirements:
Target Audience: Geophysicists, Geologists, Reservoir Engineers, Petrophysicists
SBGf Conference Course 4

Geophysical Exploration Applied to Mineral System Analysis

November 17, 2025 / 9 AM - 5 PM

Exploratory geophysics for analyzing mineral systems, covering global exploration trends, methods, strategies, elements of mineral systems, geophysical data inversion, 2D-3D multi-scale data integration and interpretation and deep geophysics.
